Accessibility

A site for everyone.

We want everyone to be able to read, navigate and give on this site, including people who use assistive technology.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. Accessibility is built into the site’s code; we do not rely on an overlay widget.

What we have done

  • Semantic structure: landmarks, a logical heading order and a “skip to main content” link.
  • Full keyboard navigation with visible focus, including the mobile menu, the language switcher and the accessibility panel.
  • Text contrast of at least 4.5:1, text that can be enlarged to 200%, and alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Forms with labels, required-field hints and error messages announced to screen readers.
  • Animations respect your system’s “reduce motion” setting and can be paused.
  • Each page is available in English and Spanish, with the correct language declared.

Accessibility options

Use the round button in the bottom corner to open the accessibility options: text size up to 200%, high contrast, a large cursor, underlined links, an extra-visible focus ring, larger click targets, skip links, a readable font, paused animations, more line spacing and a reading guide. Your choices are saved on your device.

Known limitations

The donation form will be provided by Donorbox, a third party; we will review its accessibility when it is connected. Some content is still placeholder text.
